About the Event
Confidential informants can be among the most effective investigative tools available to law enforcement. However, they also pose distinct challenges for agencies, officers, and administrators. This crash course equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage and sustain professional relationships with informants. It empowers students to navigate policies concerning informants, document their actions, and utilize the information gathered to bolster cases and prosecutions.
This course offers law enforcement personnel a fast-tracked introduction to the complex role of a "handler" and the management of informants. Students will learn the "Best Practices" from an experienced task force investigator. The course emphasizes experiential learning through activities that involve real and pertinent informant scenarios and addressing common issues encountered with informants. No prior knowledge of narcotics training is required.
